About project
We invite you to the international networking project of PTMA Warsaw and the Polish Society of Amateur Astronomers (PTMA) “Copernicus_HUB”. The implementation of this project is scheduled for 2026, with the possibility of extension for next years.
The goals of the “Copernicus_HUB” include: promotion of astronomy, astronautics and related sciences, presentation of the Polish, European and World Space Sector among astronomy enthusiasts, schools, teachers , students, partners in Poland and around the world.
An additional task of the “Copernicus_HUB” project is to integrate the PTMA branches and the planned Youth Section with schools by jointly organizing off/online meetings at agreed places and times. At each meeting, a lecture will be prepared, which will be published on the Social Media channels of PTMA Branches and project partners.
We invite formal and informal groups of astronomy enthusiasts, also from the NGO/SPACE sector, institutions and companies from the Polish and international space sector, as well as the Polish diaspora around the world, to cooperate with us.
The project “Copernicus_HUB” is implemented as part of the “Year of Nicolaus Copernicus – 2023”, which was announced by the Senate of the Republic of Poland.
The implementation of the “Copernicus_HUB” project provide for cooperation with, among others, with:
– Polish Astronomical Society,
– Urania – Advances in astronomy and Astronarium,
– Copernicus Science Center and its Planetarium,
– GAIAVARI.space,
– CREDO.science (Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow),
– POLSA,
– ESERO Poland,
– national and international Astronomy Enthusiasts Societies, including:
– MTU Blackrock Castle Observatory,
– Irish Astronomical Society,
– Unione Astrofili Italiani,
– IAU OAO/ OAE
– and the international space sector, including ESA (e.g. #Artemis, #CopernicusEU) and NASA (e.g. #ObserveTheMoon).
We will be happy to meet you at a video conference on the PTMA server on Discord / Zoom / MS Team / Google Meet to discuss in more detail the possibilities of our cooperation.

Nicolaus Copernicus
Nicolaus Copernicus was a Polish astronomer who lived from 1473 to 1543. He is best known for his theory that the sun, not the Earth, is the center of the universe. This idea, called the heliocentric model, revolutionized our understanding of the cosmos and laid the foundations for modern astronomy.
Copernicus was born in Toruń, Poland, and studied at universities in Kraków, Bologna, and Padua. He worked as a church canon and physician, but his real passion was astronomy. For many years, he studied the movements of the planets and stars, carefully observing their positions and making precise measurements.
